Mark Guajardo is a consulting actuary who leads the Analytics group within the Texas EB Region. Mark is instrumental in driving both thought leadership and content for key client engagements emphasizing targeting bottom line impact of healthcare arrangements burdened by wasteful spend. Mark has 20 years of experience working in the defined benefit actuarial space with extensive expertise in accounting/funding valuations for retiree welfare plans under the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and International Accounting Standards (IASB). Before joining HUB International (IPS Advisors), Mark led efforts at both Milliman and Mercer within their respective Dallas offices to manage internal and external relationships in the retiree welfare benefit plan arena.

As Benefits Analytics Consultant, Mr. Austin is responsible for developing leading-edge analytic methodologies embedded within the Artemis reporting system. Mr. Austin also performs analyses and supports clients in the implementation of their integrated health, attendance and disability management programs. Mr. Austin has over thirty years experience in the healthcare industry with the majority of the time focusing on Health and Productivity Management. Mr. Austin has previously worked at other data warehouse organizations (Nuna, OptumHealth and IBM Watson Health) providing similar client insights and product support. He also has experience working in benefits administration for two large employers in California: Pacific Gas & Electric (Senior Manager – Workforce Health) and Pacific Bell (Director – Health and Productivity). Mr. Austin holds an MBA and Sloan Certificate in Hospital and Health Care Administration both from Cornell University and a BA in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Thi Montalvo is the Health Analytics Practice Leader of Willis Towers Watson in North America. She works out of the Willis Towers Watson Los Angeles office. Thi previously worked at WellPoint/Anthem Blue Cross as their staff Vice President, Clinical Solutions. She also was responsible for clinical performance guarantees. She served as the Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice President for Anthem’s Care Management business unit.
